When are we in the habit of praying together? In his book Let the Nations be Glad expresses it very clearly what we at Redeemer take to be foundational in our lives individually and in the church. Life is war. That's not all it is. But it is always that. - John Piper. We're at war when we fight to maintain faith. We're at war when we die to self and love others. We're at war when we reach out to invite the unbelieving to come and worship the living God. Life is war. Our weaknesses in prayer are owed largely to our neglect of this truth. How is God glorified by prayer? Again John Piper says it well: Prayer is the open admission that without Christ we can do nothing. And prayer is turning away from ourselves to God in the confidence that He will provide the help we need. Prayer humbles us as needy and exalts God as all-sufficient Wednesday mornings- One of the hardest meetings to wake up for, but one of the most important meetings of the week happens every Wednesday from 6:30am to 9:30am in room 110.
